In the summer of 1980, two inner city youths, one from Brooklyn and the other from The Bronx, both attending Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY. We met for the first time during the summer N.O.A.H Program--one of the first affirmative action program in the United States.

Melvyn, an accounting major and counselor, met Veronica, a first-year student and a business major. The two became friends for the next two years while engaging in college life and making life-long friendships. After two years, Veronica decided to transfer back to NYC to complete her college studies while Melvyn remained and graduated with a degree in accounting.

As life would have it, they both went their separate ways and eventually lost touch and moved on with their lives. Fate would have it that after 30+ years the two would reconnect during a celebration reunion for the N.O.A.H Program where they first met. A love rekindled after many years had passed. Since their reunion, they have been thinking of each other’s thoughts and finishing each other’s sentences. The rest is history. With God’s Grace and Mercy, Destiny have worked in their favor and the love story continues…
